Ultimate Game Guide – Boomers vs Rangers – Friday October 5
THE DEAKIN MELBOURNE BOOMERS will host the Dandenong Rangers in their last pre-season clash this Friday 5 October at the State Basketball Centre from 7pm.
- Tickets and memberships available at the door.
- Free entry for full-season members.
This is the sixth and final game of the pre-season for the Boomers, with the Chemist Warehouse WNBL 2018/19 season home opener right around the corner on Saturday 13 October.
Deloraine Junior Basketball Club, a small club in Tasmania, are acting as this Friday’s guard of honour.
Everyone is encouraged to attend the Family Night game to get a sneak-peak of what is to come for the Boomers in 2018/19.

TICKETING
All Full-Season Members receive free entry. If you sign up at the game you will receive free entry. If you sign up after the game on you’re way out, you will get your membership less the cost of your tickets to Friday night’s game.
Alternatively, for non-members tickets are available to purchase at the door on game day.
TEAM NEWS
Deakin Melbourne Boomers
- The game will be the first time new imports Lindsay Allen and Sarah Boothe have played in a WNBL game at the State Basketball Centre.
- Ezi Magbegor and Jenna O’Hea will be available for the game, though it hasn’t been decided if they will suit-up. Cayla George and Steph Talbot will arrive in Melbourne this weekend.
Dandenong Rangers
- The Rangers fell short in their previous pre-season clash against the Boomers two weeks ago and will be hungry to redeem themselves.
- The Rangers will be without Carly Mijovic (injured), but have been boosted by the signing of American Betnijah Laney during the week.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Deakin Melbourne Boomers
Lindsay Allen: The Boomers signed the point guard for her first foray into the WNBL and she has already produced impressive pre-season performances. In their last pre-season game against the Rangers, Allen performed strongly with 12 points and 8 assists.
Monique Conti: The 18-year-old was influential to the team’s performance last time the Boomers met the Rangers (22 points), contributing significantly to the Boomers early lead and will looking to back this up again.
Dandenong Rangers
Kiera Rowe: Last-year’s recipient of the Rangers Rookie of the Year Award, Rowe is expected to continue her impressive performance in the build-up for her second WNBL season.
Bec Cole: Cole is well known to Boomers fans. She represented Australia during this offseason at the FIBA 3×3 Challenger event where the team won silver with Cole putting in strong performances on the international stage.
AFTER THE GAME
Come on court and meet the team! Boomers players will stay on court for up to 45 minutes post-game to chat with all the fans. Dexter the Mascot will also be making an appearance.
