Sharin Milner Named Fifth Boomers Ambassador
Just like Michele Timms did in the generation of Boomers before, Sharin Milner will long be remembered for her incredible leadership, tenacity and work ethic she displayed every single time she pulled a Boomers uniform on.
As a part of Melbourne’s 8 Ambassadors in 8 Weeks in the lead up to the 2017-18 WNBL season, the dynamic guard has been named the fifth ambassador. With more than 200 WNBL games under her belt, the 162cm fan favourite co-captained the Boomers to a championship in season 2010-11.
“Being part of the Boomers only WNBL championship is one of the highlights of my playing days, but the feeling when I think of that time is symbolic of how I reflect on the club in general,” said Milner when asked about her Boomers memories.
“I genuinely feel like that moment was about so much more than the twelve players and staff – it represented all those who had come before us, and the We Are Family tagline of the Melbourne Boomers is so symbolic of that.”
A product of the Hume City Broncos, Milner made her debut with the Boomers in season 2000-01 and never looked back, quickly earning enormous respect for her ability to control the play and lead her team.
