The Deakin Melbourne Boomers currently have a number of team staff and game day positions available for the 2017-18 WNBL season. Melbourne's WNBL Êclub provides a smoke-free workplace and the majority of home games are played at State Basketball Centre, Wantirna South.
TEAM MANAGER
The Deakin Melbourne Boomers are seeking a suitable female candidate to be the club's Team Manager for the 2017-18 WNBL season.ÊThe successful candidate will ideally be mature-age with a passion for basketball and a love of nurturing athletes.
The role is voluntary but all expenses related to the position are covered. The key responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the Boomers' Head Coach to ensure necessary items are in place for WNBL trainings and games.
- Liaise with the Boomers' head office where necessary to assist in administration, communication, and travel plans.
- Regularly attend and manage Boomers' training sessions, which will most likely be held throughout the week between 9am-12noon.
- Manage the team at all home and all away games of WNBL competition. The WNBL season will include 21 games, plus any applicable finals.
- This position will require regular interstate travel. All travel costs are covered.
This is a time-consuming but very rewarding role between September 2017 and February 2018 that is most likely to suit someone not currently working full-time.

COURT ANNOUNCER
The Deakin Melbourne Boomers has a casual vacancy available for an experienced Court Announcer for the opening six weeks of the 2017-18 WNBL season. The position may extend beyond this time if required.
Applicants should have considerable experience in announcing or broadcasting live sport and a confident attitude towards entertainment and presentation. Large amounts of crowd engagement is involved. A strong voice and vibrant personality is required.

GAME DAY STAFF
The Deakin Melbourne Boomers have a number of Game Day Staff opportunities available. Most of these positions are on a volunteer basis. You will be working closely with Front Office staff on the delivery of an engaging, inclusive, enjoyable and rewarding game day experience for members, supporters, groups and corporate partners.
Some roles include on-court appearances during in-game activations. Additional benefits, including staff uniforms, are provided.
