Monique Conti In Top Form Ahead Of WNBL Season
Ahead of the 2018/19 WNBL season, Deakin Melbourne Boomers guard Monique Conti continues to increase her workload and deliver plenty of quality performances for the Melbourne Tigers in SEABL.
The Tigers scored two wins on the weekend with Conti going for 20pts, 9rbs, 6ast, 4stl and 4 treys in a 19pt victory over Nunawading, before backing it up with 28pts, 9rbs, 3ast, 3stl and 6 treys in a 10pt win over Dandenong.
The dashing guard is averaging a personal best 19pts, 7rbs and 3.5ast this season leads the league with 59 made triples.
In other team news, Cayla George, Lindsay Allen and Steph Talbot continue to ply their trade in the WNBA, while Jenna O’Hea and Ezi Magbegor are currently in China representing the Opals.
Development Players Isobel Anstey and Jade Melbourne are also on national duty with the Sapphires (U17s), while Jaz Shelley and Chelsea D’Angelo are about to go through the final selection process for the Gems (U19s).
Kalani Purcell is back in Australia and currently playing for the South West Metro Pirates in the QBLand helped her team to a 79-70 win over Brisbane on the weekend with 20pts, 12rbs, 6ast, 5stl and 3blk.
Over in the west, Ash Grant’s Lakeside Lightning continue their domination of the competition with another thumping win, 91-60 over Joondalup. Grant finished the game with 16pts and 13rbs.
