HEAR ALL ABOUT THE BOOMERS ON 89.9 THE LIGHT

You’ll be hearing a lot more of the Deakin Melbourne Boomers on the airwaves this year with 89.9 TheLight extending their partnership into 2022.

89.9 TheLight (previously known as LightFM) and the Boomers have partnered since 2019 to grow female basketball in Melbourne through positive messaging on TheLight’s radio airwaves.

With a focus on producing family-friendly positive radio and showcasing positive role models, TheLight has been a great supporter of strong female athletes such as those at the Boomers.

As a community radio station with over 800,000 listeners a month, 89.9 TheLight has grown stronger each year, but has not lost its drive to support the community it resides in. This drive to support the community has seen a strong partnership form between the Boomers and TheLight.

Deakin Melbourne Boomers General Manager Christy Collier-Hill pointed out the alignment in values that has connected the two organisations.
