Deakin University Set To Help Turn Melbourne Purple
Deakin University is set to help Melbourne’s WNBL team turn the State Basketball Centre into a favourable shade of purple this Thursday night after announcing the first 3,000 fans to arrive will receive a free t-shirt.
“I love it, what a great idea and reward for our Boomers family” said Boomers guard Maddie Garrick.
“The players are looking forward to seeing the stands filled with the colour purple.”
Doors open at 5:30pm on Thursday night and fans are reminded the stadium is air-conditioned, providing relief from the warm weather expected outdoors.
“We’ll have the stadium cooled down, the jumping castle will be up and running, and of course the merchandise zone will be busy,” said Boomers GM Justin Nelson.
“With the extra incentive of arriving early to claim a t-shirt, we expect the crowd to start arriving as the doors open, which is great as they’ll also get to see the players warming up on court.”
