Deakin Melbourne Boomers Set For Pro Hustle

The Deakin Melbourne Boomers will be back on court next week when the 2018 3×3 Pro Hustle gets underway at Melbourne’s Docklands Film Studios on Sunday April 22.
The Boomers have put together a dynamic young team set to embrace the up-tempo style expected.
Leading the charge for the Boomers will be recently announced Australian 3×3 representative Maddie Garrick. The sharp-shooting scoring guard will be joined by WNBL teammate Monique Conti.
In a recruiting coup for the Boomers, U17 World Championship gold medalist Jasmine Simmons will re-unite with Conti and participate in her first foray into Melbourne’s elite-level women’s basketball organisation.
And, welcoming back to the Boomers fold, Chloe Molloy will pick up a basketball for the first time since her successful move to AFLW and represent her former WNBL club as a valued member of Melbourne’s new 3×3 team.
The Deakin Melbourne Boomers will be managed/coached by Julia Walsh, a proven leader with years of experience and success across various levels of Victorian basketball.
“We’re all very excited to be competing in the Pro Hustle, this is a fantastic initiative by the NBL and Basketball Australia,” said Boomers GM, Justin Nelson.
“Julia has put together a dynamic young team. We know the qualities both Maddie and Monique bring, and we are very pleased to welcome Jasmine and also have Chloe rejoin the Boomers family.”
“Entering the Pro Hustle is about the Deakin Melbourne Boomers continuing to extend its brand and connect with the community in an exciting form of the game that more and more young people are embracing,” added Nelson.
