Deakin Melbourne Boomers Finals Prospects
With the season drawing to a close, there are still 6 teams in contention for a place in the 2023/24 WNBL Finals.
The Deakin Melbourne Boomers currently 5th on the WNBL ladder, having dropped down after an unexpected win from Bendigo against Townsville who still currently sit first.
For the Boomers’ last match coming up on Saturday, February 24, there is a lot on the line with the competition being so tight, most teams only separated by a few wins and losses.
There are several scenarios in play for the upcoming finals and after last night’s match with the Flyers extinguishing the Fire, things are very tight. Read below at the various possibilities.
Looking in a positive way with the Melbourne Boomers hopefully winning their final match on Saturday, there are still 12 possibilities of making the top 4.
The Boomers could even finish as high as third if we lose to Canberra and either Bendigo or Sydney lose their last matches.
Below are the potential scenarios for Semi Finals should the Boomers progress.

The Semi Finals will commence on the 28th of February and go to the 7th of March as a Best of 3 competition style.
The Grand Final will again be a Best of 3 competition style with the three games occurring on March 10, 13 and 16.
