Boomers Want Fans To “Bring Someone New”

February 16, 2017 | Melbourne Boomers news
The Deakin Melbourne Boomers are encouraging all fans to Bring Someone New this Saturday night when they clash with Bendigo Spirit at the State Basketball Centre. With crowd numbers up by 47 per cent this season, the Boomers want to finish with a bang in front of another big audience. "Our crowds have been amazing this season, the support they have shown the team and the club is fantastic. They are the best fans in the WNBL," said Coach Guy Molloy during preparations for his team's final game of the season. "This is yet another great initiative by the club. If everyone brings someone new to the game it will expose more people to the WNBL, and to the entertainment we always put on at a Boomers game. They'll enjoy it for sure." Past Players Saturday night's game is also Past Players Night for the club with a raft of former Boomers expected to be in attendance. "We've made the final home game in the regular season each year a tribute to our past players," explained Boomers GM Justin Nelson. "To couple such a big night with a push for all of our regular fans to bring someone new will hopefully deliver another exciting atmosphere at the State Basketball Centre."
