Boomers Ready To Kiss ’17 Goodbye
With the Deakin Melbourne Boomers on the road this week (Adelaide & Perth), back at home base the front office is busy working on the third and final showdown with Dandenong Rangers set to take place on Saturday December 30.
Kiss17 Goodbye is expected to attract another bumper crowd with the Boomers hopeful the game will also be a launch pad into the WNBL finals for the first time in four years.
Celebrations on the day will include the club’s annual Past Players Day, while the Boomers will also hoist the Michele Timms Cup following a series win against the Rangers this season.
The game is now set for a 5:30pm tip-off, rescheduled from an original start time of 3pm to work in with live coverage on Fox Sports.
“A Boomers versus Rangers derby is always big and we know the fans will come out in force for our third and final game against each other this season,” said Boomers GM, Justin Nelson.
“We want to give our loyal supporters the chance to come and celebrate a successful year, 2017 has been the biggest ever for our club, we continue to set significant membership and crowd records and that’s something we want to celebrate with the Boomers family.”
“We have a few extra surprises up our sleeve for this game, but you’ll have to come along and see what we’re doing,” Nelson added.
