Boomers Ready For Another Challenge
By the time this Sunday night rolls around the Deakin Melbourne Boomers will have opened WNBL season 2017/18 with four games in 11 days, a hectic start that highlights the nature of the league’s new robust season.
Following opening round games against Dandenong (away) and Townsville (home) the Boomers will this weekend play Bendigo (at Geelong tonight) and Canberra (away).
Playing at the Geelong Arena, which has quickly become the club’s home away from home, is expected to attract a near capacity 1,600 crowd as local fans flock to see the likes of Liz Cambage and Jenna O’Hea back playing at home.
Tickets for Friday night’s game in Geelong will be available at the door or online at www.trybooking.com/BOOMERS
Melbourne’s next game at the State Basketball Centre is on Saturday October 21 (7:30pm) when Perth Lynx come to visit.
With 1,300 members already signed up for the season, the Boomers are urging all fans to take the next step and join as a member. Visit www.boomersmemberships.com.au for more details.
