Adairs CEO Mark Ronan has joined the Deakin Melbourne Boomers as its newest board member.

Ronan and Adairs have been strong supporters of the Boomers for many years now, with Adairs recently announcing that their partnership with the Boomers will stretch into its fifth year.

As CEO of one of Australia’s most well-known and strongest performing speciality homeware retailers, Ronan brings a wealth of professional experience that will continue to see the Boomers grow.

Beyond his vast business experience, Ronan will also bring a great deal of passion to the Boomers board room.

As a supporter of the Boomers for many years, Ronan has always had a strong commitment to female basketball and a passion for growing the sport as a whole. It is due to these attributes that the Chair of the board, Tony Hallam, was excited to welcome Ronan as a board member:

‘Mark is a terrific addition to the board table; he brings a wealth of business experience that will help our club continue to grow in the coming years.’

Hallam also praised Ronan for long term passion and commitment to the Boomers and women’s sport:

‘Every board member is extremely passionate about our club and Mark is no exception. His commitment to our club over many years has been exceptional, he is an ardent fan who rarely misses a game. His passion at the board table for the Boomers and women’s sport will only make our club better.’

After the appointment was announced, Ronan said that he was excited about the challenges that lay ahead:

‘As a club the Boomers have gone from strength to strength in recent years, I am excited to be part of helping to shape that growth moving forward.’

‘With some of the World’s best athletes and some of the best game day fan experiences, the Boomers are setting the benchmark for female sport in so many ways.  I am looking forward to working with a great group of people on continuing to grow the organisation.’

Many fans will already know Mark as he rarely misses a Boomers home game, above all else he is a passionate fan of the club who wants to see it become the best that it can be. The entire Deakin Melbourne Boomers family are pleased to welcome Mark Ronan to the board.
