Boomers in the Valley

Basketball associations in the La Trobe Valley were lucky enough to receive free training clinics from Boomers stars, Monique Conti and Chelsea D’Angelo, along with Assistant Coach Paul Flynn, on 1st and 2nd of July.

The first stop of the two-day tour saw the trio visit Maffra Basketball to host the first two-hour clinic, open to girls aged 8 -14. Later that day, they headed to Morwell to run the second session.

In addition to providing some fitness tips and fun for the girls, the sessions also provided families with information on pathways into domestic and representative basketball in the Valley. It was great to see a huge turnout for the first two clinics!

The evening saw Paul organise a special coaching session in Churchill open to all domestic and representative coaches from the area. The session covered a range of topics including drills within game scenarios, building team concepts (offense & defence), and individual skill progression.

On day two of the tour, Monique, Chelsea and Paul made their way to Warragul for their third and final clinic. It was a great success and enjoyed by all participants.

The team loved engaging with everyone, and we trust they were able to educate and inspire those involved. Thanks to all who came along to participate in the sessions and meet Mon, Chelsea and Paul.
