The Deakin Melbourne Boomers continue to see a swell in membership numbers with a dedicated focus on connecting with the grassroots level of the game being rewarded with more supporters joining as members.
In recent weeks Melbourne's WNBL club has seen more than 210 girls attend its new Melbourne Boomers Girls Academy sessions, along with the announcements that Liz Cambage and Jenn O'Hea are both coming home to play, but there is more on the way according to General Manager, Justin Nelson.
"It's an incredibly busy time for all of us at the Boomers, we are seeing a surge in supporters taking the next step and joining as members, which is vital for us," said Nelson.
"The news about Liz and Jenna coming home received widespread coverage and as a result the basketball community is jumping on board, they want to be a part of what promises to be an exciting time for their WNBL club."
