Boomers Family Ready To Add Some Christmas Cheer To Youth In Crisis
Over the last few years Deakin Melbourne Boomers fans have donated hundreds of gifts to Whitelion in support of youth in crisis.
This Sunday the Boomers are again asking members and fans to place a gift under the Christmas tree when they arrive at the game to help spread some festive cheer to others in need.
Free entry to the game will be provided to anyone, adult or child, who places a gift under the Christmas tree.
”The Boomers Family have supported Whitelion and this wonderful initiative with such passion over the last few years and I know they will assist again this Sunday,” said Boomers GM, Justin Nelson.
”Though we provide a ticket to the game for those who donate a gift, we always have so many members and people already with a ticket to the game who leave something under the tree. It’s great to see.”
Nelson stressed the importance of helping those in need at this time of the year, especially youth in crisis.
”For children in particular, this time of year is very special and it’s important we don’t take it for granted that everyone is in a good place right now. A little gift can make all the difference and bring a smile to a face.”
The Boomers will also be selling 25 of the very popular White Lions for $25 each with all proceeds going to Whitelion.
”We had some of these little White Lions at our Christmas game last year and since then not a game goes by when we don’t get asked when we will have them again,” said Nelson.
”So I’m pleased to report we will have some this week, but you better be quick if you want one.”
