Boomers And Spirit Prepare For Huge Community Engagement

September’s WNBL Triple Crown bonanza will be more than just an on court battle between the Deakin Melbourne Boomers and the Bendigo Spirit.
TICKETS TO ALL THREE GAMES ARE AVAILABLE HERE.
Both teams will spend time in the community meeting fans, on court training with junior players and offering a range of opportunities for locals to interact with some of the WNBL’s finest elite athletes.
Activities across the Latrobe Valley region during a jam-packed four days include school visits, coaching sessions and clinics for all ages and abilities, plus three WNBL matches in Traralgon, Maffra and Warragul.
People are encouraged to book early for these sessions (listed below) as places are limited.
OPEN SHOOT AROUND (Traralgon)

Thursday 13 September, 1.30 – 2.30pm
Watch the Deakin Melbourne Boomers WNBL and Bendigo Spirit shoot-around before the opening Triple Crown game in Traralgon. Open to all visitors, no booking necessary.
SCHOOL VISITS (Maffra & Sale)
Friday 14 September, Sale (morning) and Maffra (afternoon)
Both WNBL teams will be visiting eight local schools for a range of talks and on court activities.
SQUAD TRAINING SESSION: Players & Coaches (Churchill)

Saturday 15 September, 1 – 3pm
Join the Bendigo Spirit WNBL players and coaches for a free two hour session at Latrobe Leisure Churchill. Open to squad players (80 spots – boys/girls 10-18 years-old) and coaches, bookings are essential.

ENCOURAGING FEMALE PARTICIPATION

Open to parents, players, coaches and administrators. Come and join Justin Nelson (Boomers GM), Nicole Howard (Boomers assistant coach) and Megan Moody (Spirit assistant coach) as they share their experience and knowledge on leading, coaching, promoting and administering girls’ and women’s basketball, with a strong emphasis on how to encourage more female participation.
