The Deakin Melbourne Boomers Academy returns to Parkville these School Holidays.
Catering to young basketball enthusiasts aged 6-16, these clinics create a dynamic platform for skill development and fostering a love for the game. They are designed to accommodate boys and girls of all skill levels, ensuring that every individual experiences growth and enjoyment.
Our Academy is backed by a group of highly experienced coaches, many of whom have played at the highest levels of Australian basketball. Our coaching roster includes WNBL players who bring a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and real-world insights to our training sessions.
Empowered – Sep 30 & Oct 1
Led by Athlete63 founder Layla Prince, this female-focused clinic is for girls aged 11-16 wanting to build their confidence on the court. It includes a 1 hour interactive High Performance Mindset Workshop that equips young female athletes with the confidence to adopt the tools for resilience and leadership.
Step-Up – Sep 30 & Oct 1
This program is designed for female basketballers aged 6-12 who are committed to reaching the highest level of skill and performance. Through specialised coaching from WNBL players, advanced techniques, and strength and conditioning, our Step-Up clinic empowers young female athletes to excel.
Junior – Oct 3
Our Junior Academy is for boys and girls aged 6+ of all abilities looking to practice their basketball skills and have some fun. The day blends structured coaching sessions with interactive activities, providing a safe and encouraging environment for participants to thrive.
The Deakin Melbourne Boomers Foundation aims to foster empowerment and growth in women’s basketball to ‘make a difference for women and girls through basketball’ via our community programs.
