Another Bumper Crowd Tipped For Cup Eve
After clinching a win in the local rivalry against Dandenong on Saturday, the Deakin Melbourne Boomers will now go for a Victorian clean-sweep in Monday night’s Cup Eve showdown against Bendigo.
Though it’s a different opponent for the traditional Cup Eve clash, the Boomers are expecting another large crowd at the State Basketball Centre.
“This is the fourth year we have played on Cup Eve, it’s a concept we originally brought to the league and it has been a real winner for everyone involved,” said Boomers GM, Justin Nelson.
“We know the Boomers faithful will be there in big numbers, but it really does feel like this game has become a must-see for all basketball fans. It’s just a great family night out on the eve of a public holiday.”
The game will be Melbourne’s second game in three days and forms part of a treacherous run that has them slated to play six games in 16 days.
General Admission tickets will be available for sale at the door from 5:30pm, while Reserved Seats can be purchased prior to the event online at www.trybooking.com/BOOMERS
Either way, tickets are the same price – Adults $20, Concession $15, Juniors (17yrs & under) $10, Family (2 Adults / 2 Juniors) $50.
“We encourage people to either reserve their seats by purchasing online, or if you are buying general admission tickets at the door make sure you don’t leave it until the last minute,” said Nelson, adding “We are expecting another big crowd.”
Ezi Magbegor will again be sidelined for the Boomers as she recovers from a broken bone in her hand, but all other players will be available to play.
In other exciting news, Melbourne’s WNBL team will soon announce that Membership numbers have now gone well past the Club’s target of 2,500.
“We will release a membership update in the coming days, but it’s pleasing to say we are very happy with the growing support for the Boomers.”
